THE CARBLOVERS DIET: Eat What You Love, Get Slim for Life
By the Editors of Health magazine
August 2010
I was recently sent an advance copy of The CarbLovers Diet: Eat What You Love, Get Slim for Life created by the editors of Health magazine and can whole heartedly endorse it. Shout out! Thumbs up! Big Holler! Seriously, I really appreciate the information and diet featured here. (And you will too.)
It's no longer necessary to exclude all breads, pastas and fruits in order to keep slim. You don't have to struggle with eating open-faced sandwiches, avert your eyes from the tempting pasta salad at the company holiday party, or make lame excuses why you can't indulge in a little fruit salad at the family picnic. Because get this kids--carbs are actually good for you! (Can you imagine?)
Listen up you "protein-only" followers, cause the truth is carbohydrates are, in fact, your friend and not the enemy food group. Carbs can help you lose weight and are the best kinds of foods to curb mid-meal cravings. You just have to choose the Resistant Starch variety. This is from the press release:
Hundreds of new studies show that a breakthrough ingredient called Resistant Starch, found exclusively in carb-filled foods, has the power to turn off your appetite, turn on your metabolism, and improve your health and mood! These magic carbs – such as bananas, potatoes, and brown rice – form the cornerstone of the CarbLovers diet and are the secret to losing weight without hunger or cravings.
I always thought it was strange how many fruits and vegetables were considered 'bad" in a high protein plan and missed bananas especially when I followed one years ago. I also did not enjoy the constipation a meat-heavy diet brought either (TMI?)
But we call enjoy food variety again! I am talking bread, potatoes, oatmeal, beans, tortillas and potato chips--yes!
Along with real life followers of the diet featured inside, you will also find a"7-Day CarbLovers Kickstart Plan," a"21-Day Carb Immersion Plan," some cool workout moves to try at home and a comprehensive"CarbLovers Eat Out Guide" that gives you guidance when you have to either buy frozen meals or eat out at one of the top restaurant chains. Not too shabby!
The book sells for $24.95, is published by Oxmoor House and is on sale starting this week. You can get more information here: CarbLovers.com
I say go get it and enjoy some pasta again--yum! (Good work Health magazine editors!)
