Recently I was contacted by the folks at Honest Tea to try out their product. So naturally I said, "I like free drinks. Send them to Brooklyn!"
Here is their web site: http://www.honesttea.com/
The mission statement: Honest Tea creates and promotes delicious, truly healthy, organic beverages. We strive to grow with the same honesty we use to craft our products, with sustainability and great taste for all.
Their business ethic: The company strives for authenticity, integrity and purity, in our products and in the way we do business.
At the Whole Foods in the Lower East Side I noticed that Honest Tea had a pretty big section all for themselves.
I'm hooked. I like what you have to say but how do your products taste?
Pomegranate Blue is a water drink flavored with real pomegranate juice and organic cane sugar that was tasty without being too sweet (their motto is "a tad sweet" which fits perfectly.) Its certainly not a low-calorie option (one bottle is 100 calories) but after a tough workout (or even during)--it tastes amazing.
Yesterday I traded my usual plain, tap water for Pomegranate Blue for the hour-long spin class I taught and the sugar and sweetness definitely gave me a boost. This is the perfect alternative to "sports" drinks as they normally add fructose syrup AND sodium which leaves me feeling bloated and cranky afterward.
I was also sent Half & Half which is half lemonade and half ice tea-YUM!
But don't just listen to me, try them for yourself at these locations in Brooklyn:
