“Meet a Blogger/The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl/Shauna”
Hey there! Hi there! Ho there!
Pardon me for talking about Fitbloggin’ yet again but I would be remiss if I did not introduce the lovely Shauna of The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl to the World Wide Web. This woman is simply one of the sweetest, loveliest people I have met in quite some time (and that is really saying something!) and I am thrilled to call her a Twitter/Blog buddy.
I suggest you all follow her right away if you do not do so already.
Now let’s get this thing going!
This is his website address: http://www.dietgirl.org/
You can find her at Twitter: @shauna

Questions from Brooklyn Fit Chick:
● What is the name of your magazine or Blog?
The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl
● How would you describe it to someone who has not read it before?
It's the story of an Aussie woman living in Scotland - ten years of weight loss, maintenance, gaining and losing again, with lots of adventures and travels along the way.
● How did you get interested in writing?
I was always making "novels" when I was kid - scribbling stories, stapling them together, then and pestering my family to read them. So when I discovered blogging in 2000 it was a glorious day - I could publish to the world instantly, and do it while I was supposed to be working!
● What is your favorite workout?
Right now it’s Zumba. As a kid I thought I was too tubby for dance classes so with Zumba I finally get to shake my booty!
I love how you see all ages, shapes and sizes in Zumba classes. It's so inclusive and doesn't take things too seriously. I get a serious workout while smiling the whole time.
● Who/whom are your “fitness heroes?”
Krista of stumptuous.com, a women's weight training site. Her writing convinced me that weights wouldn’t make you bigger; in fact they help fire up your metabolism. She's a very feisty, fiercely intelligent woman and her website just makes you want to get out there and kick arse!
● The biggest physical challenge you have overcome?
Losing 175 lbs. was a big physical challenge but the mental challenges has been the toughest, silencing the inner fat chick that insists you're not good enough. I love proving her wrong!
● Besides your magazine/Blog—what are you favorite reads?
I read far too many blogs (and I don't want to show favoritism!) but two I really love are Jen at Perfect At Our Imperfections (yawwblog.blogspot.com) and Lynn of Lynn's Weigh (lynnsweigh.blogspot.com)
● What is the reality show you make sure to never miss?
UK reality shows are all rubbish! I do like the Biggest Loser USA - a friend had recorded one season on a DVD and I watched the whole thing over a week, it was insanely addictive!
● If you could trade places with a specific person from any time in history (past or present) for one day—who would it be and why?
I'd like to be Beyoncé and know what it feels like to bust out a tune like that. Or Johnny Depp... I'd just stare at myself in a mirror all day.
● How do you motivate yourself when your mind & body are saying “Ugh, not today?”
I ask myself if there is something going or if I simply just can't be bothered. It's the latter I make myself do whatever it is for just 15 mins and reassess!
● If you could enjoy any one food (or drink) as much as you like without ever gaining weight or suffering ill effects from it—what would it be?
Green and Blacks Milk Chocolate or good ol’ vanilla ice cream
● Who/what makes you laugh when you need a mood lift –
My husband, old Seinfeld episodes, or DamnYouAutoorrect (http://damnyouautocorrect.com)
Thanks Shauna!!
