Women’s Health Cover Star for January/February 2013:
TV’s Emily VanCamp (Revenge) is on the cover of Women’s Health and um… I read and reread this interview several times and just can’t pull anything out of it that feels noteworthy. Sorry gang, but sometimes I read just too many of these damn things and they all start to sound the same. (Emily does look great if that is helpful to any of you?)
Let’s just move on, shall we?
So what else is in the January/February issue of Women’s Health?
“Shop Your Shape--Fitness Looks”
I don’t know about you but Santa gave me lots of new pieces to wear to the gym. (Yay Santa!) If you are still looking to add to your fitness wardrobe, check out the ideas in Women’s Health’s fashion pages.
“15-Minute Workout”
A simple “timing tweak” can help you burn more calories in less time. So, be sure to check out how to do just that with this workout from David Jack of Actv8 Phoenix of Acton, Massachusetts.
“Your Fittest Year Starts Here!”
Whether you are a busy mom—an overworked businesswoman or you are just looking to undo the damage of this past holiday—the editors of Women’s Health have ideas to get you in your best shape yet no matter what your time constraints might be.
“Tone Every Inch”
In order to get into your best shape you must identify where your weakness lies. This feature helps you overcome your physical barriers.
“The Healthiest Cities for Women”
So do you happen to live in one of these super-healthy cities? Women’s Health partnered with Men’s Health and judged American cities as to their healthiness based on nutrition, cost of living and cancer rates.
- San Francisco, CA
- Salt Lake City. UT
- San Jose, CA
- Boise, ID
- Burlington, VT
- Minneapolis, MN
- Seattle, WA
- Austin, TX

And now the rest of the best of this issue of Women’s Health:
- “9 Ways to Live Your Best Life” Women’s Health shows how just making one lifestyle change can make a big difference in the quality of your life after just one month!
- "Melanoma" Please stop using tanning beds, people! (Confession time—I use them from time to time and know that I need to stop. Someone out there—please make stop tanning!?)
- "Sleep Before You’re Dead” A good night’s sleep in essential to good health. Here are some tips to make you get in some zzzz’s.
- "Be a Fitness Warrior" Women’s Health talked to actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson on how she gets in shape for her rather sexy show (Spartacus.)
Overall Grade:
B+ I really enjoyed the articles and features in this issue (just wasn’t too jazzed about the cover interview.) Otherwise, good work Women’s Health!
